Hart County Civil War Days Friday - Sunday, September 12 - 14, 2008
This year's Hart County Civil War Days will again be offering an outstanding lineup
of concerts, performances, and special exhibits. All are free and open to the
public. Here are some of the highlights of this year's festival:
Friday
- Hart County Historical Museum open for tours.
- History Mobile Unit
- Delicious Country Ham Dinner.
- Civil War drama and period music in the evening.
- Civil War era dance lessons to prepare to dance
at the famous "Blue Grey Ball"
on Saturday night.
Saturday
- Pancake breakfast.
- Self-guided walk on the Old Munfordville Walking Tour.
- Flag raising ceremony on the Courthouse Square marks
the start of the day's
festivities.
- Arts and craft booths will be all around the Square as well as food booths.
- Parade, High Tea & Quilt Show.
- Living History Camps.
- Musicians performing throughout the day.
- President Abraham Lincoln / President Jefferson Davis Debate.
- Battle Re-enactment.
- Activities and games for the children.
- Famous Blue-Grey Ball with live music played from the Civil War era.
Sunday
- Military camps will be open.
- A Civil War period church service will be held at the Presbyterian Church.
- Afternoon Battle Re-enactment.
